Decoder: Helping you make sense of the new world of media

As part of our radio specialization in journalism, my class is responsible for producing a half-hour current events show each week.

This is episode one of Decoder, a show designed to help the listener make sense of the new world of media that we are now immersed in every day.

In this episode: we ask the question of whether online athletes are destined for success, or driven to distraction... we explore the untamed world of online commentary.... a media-inspired song from Scottish musician Electrobuddah... we investigate why someone might want to learn a real guitar instead of picking up the actual instrument... and we provide a little glimpse into radio gone wrong.

The show is hosted by me, James Jackson, and is featured on, available here.
